The name Marchand dates back for centuries and means ‘traders’ in French. Seeped in tradition, and yet, innovative and creative, The Marchand family is collaborative—exchanging ideas and skills: music, woodworking, painting, design, photography, cooking.
The heritage of the Houston name is rooted in Ireland, a land full of history. Friendly yet independent, the Houston Family has generations of carpenters that are best known for their diligence, precision and grace with a resiliency that has established them across the globe

About A Partnership
“You’re my brother from another Mother” were the words used by Blair when Josh asked to join forces and create a partnership. And it’s true, the similarities are astounding, from the same tool belts, hammers, and hunting boots, to a dedication as fathers, husbands and church members, and a love for the craft of Carpentry.
What started as two companies independently working towards the same goal has led to an experienced cooperative sharing resources, knowledge, and inspiration.
As passionate outdoorsmen, Blair and Josh apply creative building techniques that honour the varied environments in which they work. By blending traditional high-end carpentry with proven building science & technology, they are able to create spaces that reflect beauty in simplicity.
